Moving Beyond Pain

"Will you at least consider this: when all you can see is your pain, perhaps then you lose sight of me?" - William P. Young, The Shack: Where Tragedy Confronts Eternity ---- " Faith --Faith is required when you are in a state of suffering. Nothing is more convincing than pain, and when it is present, words can't make it go away. Pain is too physical and too present. But despite its intensity, pain is only temporary. Evil depends on our forgetting this fact. If it couldn't inflict pain, evil would have no power at all. Therefore, when caught in the throes of any pain, keep faith. Realize that there is a reality beyond our present misery. You are that reality, and you will return to it as your suffering lessens." - Deepak Chopra, The Third Jesus: The Chris We Cannot Ignore

Forgetfulness and Returning to God

Rafiki : Look down there. Simba : [looks into a pond of water] That's not my father. That's just my reflection. Rafiki : No, look harder. [he touches the water; as it ripples, Simba's reflection changes to that of Mufasa] Rafiki : You see? He lives in you. Mufasa : [from above] Simba. Simba : Father? [Simba sees his father's spirit in the sky] Mufasa : Simba, you have forgotten me. Simba : No. How could I? Mufasa : You have forgotten who you are, and so forgotten me. Look inside yourself, Simba. You are more than what you have become. You must take your place in the Circle of Life. Simba : How can I go back? I'm not who I used to be. Mufasa : Remember who you are. You are my son, and the one true King. Remember who you are. From The Lion King ---- "...[Edgar] Cayce was asked how individuals could become aware of their soul history and their records through space and time. His response was straightforward:

The Purpose of Life

"The greatest thing in the world is a human life. The greatest work in the world is the helpful touch upon that life." - Antoinette Abernethy Lamoreaux "The importance of helping others was frequently cited as the means to overcome one's problems and difficulties. From [Edgar] Cayce's perspective, there was always someone to whom an individual could be of service. In fact, being of service to that one individual was how a soul could perhaps best serve its Creator. After all, that was an essential purpose of one's life." - Kevin J. Todeschi, Edgar Cayce on the Akashic Records "Perhaps one difficulty we face in our understanding is that we too often focus on 'doing' rather than on the importance of 'being.' Essentially, the purpose of life demands a growth in consciousness and personal awareness. Yet, too often we become fixated on the goal or on our perception of what needs to be fixed or changed. We direct our energies into ch

Light

Quotes on light from The Third Jesus: The Christ We Cannot Ignore by Deepak Chopra... "Physically, light is what you see when you wake up in the morning. Mystically, it's what you see when you wake up to your soul. Light gives life, and it shows the way through the darkness." "Light doesn't have to be created out of darkness, only allowed to shine."

The Measure of Enlightenment

"The measure of enlightenment is how comfortable you feel with your own contradictions." - Deepak Chopra, The Third Jesus: The Christ We Cannot Ignore

Life is Amazing

“Life is amazing. And then it's awful. And then it's amazing again. And in between the amazing and awful it's ordinary and mundane and routine. Breathe in the amazing, hold on through the awful, and relax and exhale during the ordinary. That's just living. Heartbreaking, soul-healing, amazing, awful, ordinary life. And it's breathtakingly beautiful.” ― L.R. Knost --- Although, I can't remember the last time I thought life was "awful." :) Life is a gift. A beautiful, raging, messy, wonderful gift. We are all so blessed to have the opportunity to live. I am grateful!

Update on Me - The Road to Kona 2019 and More!

Image
Hello All! An update on me! I just finished reading my 12th book of the year tonight-- The 5 Second Rule by Mel Robbins . I enjoyed the book and came across this wonderful Rumi quote: "There's a voice that doesn't use words, listen." Just stop and soak that in for a second... :) My goal for the year was to read 12 new books... I'm a little ahead of schedule! Andy Andrews' newest book is next! It's called:  The Little Things: Why You Really Should Sweat the Small Stuff Looking forward to it! As far as an update on IRONMAN training... I just started my 5th month of training and I registered for my first ever triathlon this week! I will be competing in the Deer Creek triathlon on Sunday, 11 June 2017. It is part of the 26th Annual FIT Family Series! I am nervous and excited! I feel strong and confident... I know I have been putting in the hours of training and I have already trained for longer distanc

Inspiration from Deepak Chopra

Image
"Whenever you have a flash of love, innocence, inspiration, awe, wonder, or joy, remind yourself: This is the real me. Don't let such moments simply pass you by. Stop and appreciate them, and ask that you receive more in the future." - Deepak Chopra,  The Third Jesus: The Christ We Cannot Ignore

The Creative Process

"The creative process is a process of surrender, not control." - Julia Cameron

Miracles

"Miracles begin with you.  You must find the place inside of yourself where nothing is impossible."  - Deepak Chopra --- Although, I would prefer the quote to read: "Miracles begin with you. You must find the place inside yourself where everything is possible." It has a more positive spin to it... don't you think? :) Be pro what you want out of life versus against what you don't want. What you focus on expands. I choose to focus on the positive. Your Victory Awaits!

The race includes a 2.4-mile roughwater swim, 112-mile bike, and 26.2-mile run! Training began today! "The IRONMAN World Championship centers on the dedication and courage exhibited by participants who demonstrate the IRONMAN mantra that ANYTHING IS POSSIBLE.®" More to come! Let's do this!
