Feed the Positive Dog

Image
From The Energy Bus:  10 Rules to Fuel Your Life, Work, and Team with Positive Energy by Jon Gordon... A man goes to a village to visit the wise man and he says to the wise man, "I feel like there are two dogs inside me.  One dog is this positive, loving, kind, and gentle dog and then I have this angry, mean-spirited, and negative dog and they fight all the time.  I don't know which is going to win."  The wise man thinks for a moment and he says, "I know which is going to win.  The one you feed the most, so feed the positive dog ." At NAA 's Leadership Convention last year my husband and I had the opportunity to meet Chris Gardner in person and have him sign copies of two of his books, The Pursuit of Happyness and Start Where You Are:  Life Lessons in Getting from Where You Are to Where You Want to Be .   Start Where You Are is a phenomenal book, chock-full of lessons and tips to help you on your journey through life's challenges--both business and personal.    The Pursuit of Happyness is by far the rawest biography I have read to date.  At times I had to put the book down and walk away just to be able to sort out the trauma he endured in my brain. NAA 's 2012 National Convention (NATCON) is going to allow us the opportunity to meet yet another cultural icon:  Jon Gordon .  I have read the following by Jon Gordon and highly recommend his books to anyone looking to grow themselves, their relationships, and their organizations: The Seed:  Finding Purpose and Happ...

Going Beyond the Elements

I took this picture in my backyard today.  It got me thinking... Over time, the elements weather all things.  The threads that held the metal rods on this windchime have been exposed to the elements for years.  One by one the threads could no longer bear the load.  First it was one, then two; soon it will be four.  The metal rods have, little by little, overcome the strength of the thread as the sun, wind, and rain have worn them down.  As such, the rods have fallen to the earth below. With care and attention, we can restore what once was.  Not the same, but nonetheless renewed and able to continue on.  What is broken can be mended. I recently read that "God keeps breaking your heart until it opens."  Are you open?  Are you ready for a better, stronger you? "Don't let the world create you." This is YOUR moment!  Make it yours! The Best of the Best
